Why Choose Lavanda Blu?
Beautiful and peaceful location »
The farm sits on a south-facing hill overlooking the most peaceful valley in the area. You can watch the sunrise and the sunset, which sets over the mountains. There are birds, butterflies and other wildlife because it is so serene and surrounded by beautiful fields of sunflowers and wheat.
Close to the sea, towns and mountains »
We're located only 20 minutes from the beach, 40 minutes from the heart of the mountains and charming neighboring towns are only 10-20 minutes away.
There are no busy roads anywhere near us, yet we are only 3 km to tiny medieval Carassai where you will find a bank, post office, grocery store, bars, pharmacy, restaurant and everything else you might need.
Comfortable cheerful rooms »
The rooms and apartments have been recently restored. They are full of light and have fans and window screens. All bathrooms are private and have large showers. Breakfast is buffet style (available all morning) with fresh bread, homemade jams, local fruit, cereal and yogurt. When Elizabetta has time, she makes breakfast cakes. This room is also used for socializing.
Cozy camp sites »
Many of our campsites are somewhat secluded as they are separated by trees and bushes, are on different levels, or are in the olive grove. Every year we plant more tress, bushes and vines to create an even greater sense of privacy for our campers and also give shade. We supply a shared fridge for campers to store their food in and also provide cold drinks for sale. If you order the day before, Hans brings you fresh bread 6 times per week.
Lots of public areas to use and enjoy »
There is a shade garden, an herb garden, a veranda, several gazebos, flower gardens, a picnic area and a play area for children. There is plenty of outdoor seating in the shade and tables for you to use. You can wander about the farm: the olive grove, the vineyard and the lavender field. We have some games for children a badminton set and a wading pool for the very little ones. We have local guide books and maps for you to borrow as well as a revolving library (take a book, leave a book) and some board games.
Great meals and products »
In our little farm shop you will find our organic extra virgin olive oil, homemade and locally sourced products as well as some fresh produce from our garden.
Elizabetta cooks delicious homemade meals a few times a week so if you wish, you can join us and other guests for a fun family-style meal at our huge table. Prices and menus are posted beforehand.
You can also participate in a casual Italian cooking class on dinner nights.
Working organic farm and agriturismo »
Lavanda Blu is a certified organic working farm; we produce lavender and olive oil. We also grow vegetables, fruit and wine for our own consumption. We are a certified agriturismo, which means we have all the permits to rent rooms and campsites.
Casual relaxed atmosphere »
We want our guests and ourselves to have fun, so we keep things casual and relaxed. We've met so many wonderful people that we've become friends with and look forward to meeting many more!
Our philosophy »
We believe in sustainable tourism and land management. We love our amazingly quiet and beautiful farm, our area and our neighbors and thus strive to make a small foot print on the planet and have a positive impact on our local community.
This is why we cultivate our farm organically. We live in an area where water is in short supply, especially in the summer. We choose not to have a swimming pool because the negative environmental impact (the high water consumption and chemical pollution) of swimming pools, including the more "natural" salt water pools is great.
We are located close to the wonderful Adriatic Sea (perfect for swimming for all ages) and also the Sibillini Natural Park (in the mountains) which is a member of the European Charter for sustainable tourism in protected areas.
We realize of course that we play only a tiny part in helping our environment, but know that every little thing that anyone does is a step in the right direction for the future. At our farm we heat our water and house with sansa, the leftovers of the olive oil production and wood, both of which leave a small impact on the environment. Soon we will also have solar panels to help heat our water. We mostly use cleaning agents which are environmentally friendly, recycle, re-use and buy locally whenever possible. We collect rain water for our plants and landscape with mostly indigenous plants that need little water. As much as possible we grow the vegetables and fruit that we eat and continually learn and practice new ways to preserve our earth for future generations and support our local community.
We enjoy sharing this tiny corner of the earth that we care for with others. It is truly a relaxing, friendly and beautiful corner that leaves lasting memories.
